Job Description

We are partnering with an established consumer products organization to identify a Senior Designer, Home for its growing home business. This is a hands-on creative role for a versatile designer who understands how to build compelling, commercial product across a range of soft and hard home categories . The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts with a practical understanding of the product development process. This person will help shape seasonal collections from concept through execution, translating brand direction, consumer trends and retail opportunities into cohesive product assortments.

• Experience working with licensed brands and major retail customers is highly desirable.
• Compensation: 115K-120K

This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who enjoys the intersection of creativity, brand storytelling and commercial product development . The role offers broad exposure across home categories and the opportunity to have meaningful ownership of product from initial inspiration through final execution.

Responsibilities:

Creative Design & Seasonal Direction

• Create seasonal product concepts and collections across multiple home categories, spanning both soft and hard goods.
• Develop color palettes, prints, patterns, materials, finishes and product details appropriate to the brand and target consumer.
• Research emerging trends across home, interiors, lifestyle, color, materials and the broader consumer marketplace.
• Build seasonal inspiration, color and concept presentations that establish a clear point of view for each collection.
• Translate trend and creative direction into product that works within specific retail channels and price points.
• Produce CADs, artwork, product specifications and other design materials needed to move concepts into development.

Brand & Licensed Product

• Design product within an established brand aesthetic while finding opportunities to keep collections fresh and relevant.
• Help build coordinated assortments that successfully extend a lifestyle brand into the home category.
• Work directly with brand/licensing partners through concept reviews, revisions and approvals.
• Interpret brand standards across color, graphics, materials and product execution.
• Prepare product and concept presentations for internal teams, retail partners and brand stakeholders.
• Keep projects moving against seasonal development and approval calendars.

Product Development

• Partner closely with Product Development, Merchandising, Sales, Sourcing and international teams to bring concepts to market.
• Review prototypes, samples, strike-offs, lab dips, finishes and materials throughout development.
• Communicate clear design direction and revisions to vendors and development partners.
• Resolve product challenges creatively while remaining mindful of cost, quality, construction and manufacturing capabilities.
• Manage multiple projects and categories simultaneously from concept through final product.

Retail & Commercial Partnership

• Design with a strong understanding of the end consumer, retail environment, competitive landscape and target price architecture.
• Collaborate with Sales and Merchandising on product assortments developed around retailer opportunities and customer needs.
• Participate in product presentations and customer meetings when appropriate.
• Respond quickly to retailer feedback and translate requests into thoughtful design solutions.
• Stay current on competitive assortments, pricing, emerging trends and whitespace opportunities within the home market.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant home product design experience , ideally at the Senior Designer level.
• Strong background in soft home, hard home or both , with broad category exposure particularly attractive.
• Experience developing product for licensed brands strongly preferred.
• Understanding of the full product lifecycle, from initial concept and artwork through development and production.
• Excellent sense of color, print, pattern, materials, finishes and construction .
• Ability to interpret trend information and turn it into relevant, saleable product.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills; additional CAD or product-design software experience is beneficial.
• Experience partnering with overseas factories, vendors or development teams.
• Strong visual presentation and communication skills.
• Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple seasonal projects and deadlines.
• Collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving product environment.
