Scrum Master

In this role, you will:

• Guide and coach teams on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.
• Get teams to a high-performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
• Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
• Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
• Work with teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, development teams, and stakeholders to define clear quality goals, monitor progress, and implement continuous improvement practices including coach teams on best practices for testing, quality assurance, and risk management.
• Ask difficult questions, remove impediments, and make issues and problems visible. Escalates as necessary.
• Work with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role.
• Facilitate and support all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
• Ensure cross-functional coordination (UX, analysts, developers, and testers) is occurring early and often.
• Use Jira to provide visibility to status, metrics, predictability, throughput, quality, impediments, and dependencies.
• Contribute to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
• Manage, train, and mentor mid-level and entry-level BAs who work on different projects; assist with candidate evaluation for new BA hires.
• Assist the team to agree on what they can achieve during each development sprint (or another period)
• Facilitate the daily standup (sometimes called the daily scrum) and help the team reach a consensus.
• Help the team make progress on the project by ensuring each person is working on the right tasks, helping to remove any obstacles to the team member’s progress, and protecting the team from distractions.

For this role, you will have:

• 3+ years of experience in Agile development including coaching on Agile methodologies.
• Must have a Secret or DHS Public Trust security clearance.
• Scrum Master Certification
• 1+ years of experience coaching a team and stakeholders on Agile practices and ensuring adherence to Agile methodology.
• 1+ years of experience in facilitation skills in leading planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives.
• 1+ years of experience influencing and driving teams to success using Agile/SAFe/Scrum/Lean practices.
• 1+ years of experience of leadership experience in achieving successful project outcomes.
• 1+ years of experience leading cross-functional teamwork in and across teams and organizations.
• 1+ years of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures, and technical standards
• Bachelor's degree, or an additional 5 years of experience
• 1+years of experience with Tools such as Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and Mural

Preferred skills:

• 1+ years of experience with the ServiceNow Platform
• Communicate clearly and can deliver complex messages and teach new concepts.
• 1+ years of experience resolving conflicts through strong mediation skills.
• Ability to write and review user stories with clear acceptance criteria
• Skilled at analyzing existing system documentation to summarize existing system functionality as it relates to the project at hand.
• Good understanding of basic system technologies as they relate to the project deliverables.
• Ability to maintain project roadmaps.
• Ability to provide technical assistance and troubleshooting by effectively responding to inquiries.
